Local buses are commonly used by residents and can provide visitors with an affordable way to travel between towns. However, routes, stopping points and passenger conditions may differ depending on the destination and service.

Travellers who are unfamiliar with the transport system should confirm their route before boarding. Keeping smaller cash denominations can also make paying fares easier. Visitors planning to use public transport should organise their journey alongside their Sri Lanka eVisa preparation.

Checking the information associated with a Sri Lanka e Visa before departure is equally important. Travellers should understand the relevant Sri Lanka Visa requirements and keep their Sri Lanka ETA Visa confirmation accessible while moving between destinations.
