Buying a CO2 Fractional Laser in Pakistan: 6 Things Clinics Should Check First

A CO2 fractional laser is one of the most profitable machines a skin clinic can own. It treats acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks, pigmentation and uneven texture, and patients are willing to pay for visible resurfacing results. It is also a serious investment, and a poor choice can mean downtime, unhappy patients and expensive repairs. Here is what clinics in Pakistan should check before buying.

1. Laser source: glass tube or RF metal tube

RF-excited metal tubes cost more upfront but last longer and give a more stable output. Glass tubes are cheaper but need replacing sooner. Ask the supplier which one the machine uses and what a replacement tube costs.

2. Real power output

Check the actual wattage delivered, not just the number in the brochure. For resurfacing and scar work, a stable 30–40W output gives you room to adjust settings for different skin types and indications.

3. Scanner patterns and handpieces

A good scanner lets you control spot density, shape and size. A vaginal rejuvenation handpiece adds another revenue stream if your clinic offers gynecology services.

4. Settings for South Asian skin

Darker skin types (Fitzpatrick III–V) carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Choose a machine that allows low-density, low-energy settings, and make sure your team is trained to use them.

5. Local service and spare parts

This matters most. A machine with no local engineer can sit idle for weeks waiting for a part from abroad. Buy from a supplier that repairs and services machines inside Pakistan.

6. New or refurbished

A properly refurbished machine from a known brand often outperforms a cheap new one. The key is proper testing, a written warranty and a supplier you can actually reach.
