**510** — the near-universal threaded fitting between cartridge and battery. **Pod** — a proprietary cartridge fitting one manufacturer's device only. **Coil** — the heating element. **Wick** — the material carrying oil to the coil. **Draw-activated** — fires on inhalation rather than a button. **AIO** — all-in-one, a sealed device combining battery and oil.

Documents and compliance

**COA** — certificate of analysis, the laboratory report for a batch. **Batch number** — the identifier tying a product to its COA. **Full panel** — testing covering potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides and microbials. **ND** — not detected, meaning below the limit of detection rather than absent. **Seed-to-sale** — the state tracking system following material from plant to purchase.

Commerce

**Vertical integration** — one company holding cultivation, extraction and retail licences. **White-label** — product made by a licensed manufacturer and sold under another company's brand. **Licensed production** — a national brand manufactured locally under agreement, which is how brands cross state lines when product cannot.

Terms that mean less than they appear to

**Craft**, **small batch**, **premium**, **top shelf**, **full spectrum** and **lab tested** have no agreed definitions in cannabis. The last one describes a legal requirement rather than a differentiator.
