Well that was an experience I don't want to repeat. Took my QX80 out for a weekend desert camping trip with the family, everything was going great until the second morning when I went to start the car and it just clicked. Dead battery in the middle of nowhere. Luckily there were some other campers nearby who gave me a jump and I managed to get back to civilization, but honestly that was a wake-up call. The battery is about three years old and I guess the combination of the heat and all the electronics in this car just killed it faster than I expected. Now I need to get it replaced properly because I do these desert trips pretty regularly and I can't afford to get stranded again. I've been looking around and I've heard that Infinitis can be picky about batteries because of all the driver assistance systems and the hydraulic suspension. A friend told me that Infiniti car battery installation in Industrial Area 3 by a Certified crew would be the way to go since they deal with a lot of Nissan and Infiniti SUVs and know exactly what type of battery to use. I just want to make sure whoever does it knows about the battery registration process because I've read that if you don't reset the system the charging profile stays set for the old battery and the new one won't last as long. Has anyone had their QX80 or Q50 battery replaced at one of these industrial area shops and had a good experience? I'm also wondering if I should go with an AGM battery this time or stick with the standard one. Any advice would be really helpful.
