Today, it is a world leader on the metal substrate market for exhaust gas catalysts and metallic diesel particulate filters for vehicles and mobile machinery. Since its foundation Continental Emitec has sold more than 200 million high-quality metal substrates and is a long-standing development partner of engine and automobile manufacturers as well as of the agricultural and construction machinery industry. The company usually works together with its customers to develop products and systems at its research and test centers. Emitec employs around 850 people at its locations in Lohmar and Eisenach (Germany), in Fountain Inn (USA) and in Pune (India). Development centres are based in Germany.
