Q: Tell us about yourself as an entrepreneur and your vision for your venture American Town China? Any significance to the name?
John: I work to be a humble person and our business culture begins with a small case letter. Our legal business name is quintinworks, LLC Dba, americantownchina. (the small case first name letter reminds me to be humble to Customers/Clients) The reason americantownchina exists is because of the Client. A western culture of clients. This is the basis that will attract the Chinese citizens.
The Chinese are of course conservative in nature because of their Communist rule. Where individuality was shunned. Serving for the whole was rewarded. Our western individuality and expression amazes the Chinese even if the individuality self is not liked by some Citizens in China. Even the most conservative Chinese are still attracted and curious by our loud open nature and are attracted to experience it or see it.
Like we are attracted to take an inexpensive family day trip to the China Towns all over the world. To experience a little Chinese culture. Only around 4% of Chinese Citizens have a passport. Leaving 1.2 billion Chinese never to see a live western culture before they die. So, you can see why it’s important to americantownchina community to be comfortable. We provide almost everything they need to increase their exports while enjoying China in a vacation atmosphere. The staff always being humble to their needs.
Meeting the requirements for growth in americantownchina. Keeping the community as a western community is to include any western country. We are more than happy to accommodate including, diet, translators and any requirements the client requests to best increase their business growth. After-all, American Stands for Melting pot of all countries and would like to use that as a description of the community.
The future when americantownchina has been established. It will be recognized as the first stepping stone for our “one country at a time” opportunity. Then comes americantown – India, Russia, Africa, Philippines allowing a total entrance to becoming an international opportunity. The americantown’s in these countries will have more of an advanced nature for experienced small business clients who have gone to americantownchina or has an international presence already. Shorter time, less export and travel introductions. Yet, have all the comforts to keep proactive by familiar comfort western surroundings, food, like-minded businesses in a vacation atmosphere.
Q: What are key factors that shaped and influenced your business venture idea and focus?
John: Like anyone that has a business. I’m sure them like me. Have a business to solve a customer’s problem. Have a solution and see their relief and the thank you receive when you do a good job. On top of that, you even get paid doing it. I’m sure many like me have. Don’t want to say fail. But, learned from my past ventures. Started as a child going door to door selling flower and vegetable seeds. I attempted a Sweater business when I lived in Germany. And most recently, I had motorized bicycles I wanted to rent to the visiting students from Korea. I worked at a University as an administrative assistant to the Dean.
This is where american town china began. The Dean had been working on a Theme Park for China. A big conglomerate he was doing, involving the biggest western corporate businesses that were established in China. He had been trying for years to get it going with investors with the need of literally billions of dollars to get it up and running. I had different Idea’s and one day he told me to stop working on my project or I would have to find work somewhere else.
So, that’s when I had to move on. My project was for Small Business no matter what their size. Gathering in a Business Free District in China. Because then, most Small Business were locked out believing the risk was too high because of the cost to brand, market, legalities and logistics to ship their products or services overseas. Where corporate mega businesses like Walmart and Coke had the tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of dollars to accomplish, not being too large a risk to them. american town china is for any small Business no matter what their size. Plus, with the owners or representative owners as Clients. Their all-inclusive stay naturally brings in Individuality and a western culture forms, just westerners being westerners. The Dean’s Gigantic Theme Park was to me a plastic culture where people could be replaced by anyone. You see, american town china community is the members in it. Without the community it would be just another Theme Park.
Q: How do you see American Town China positively impacting other US based small businesses? What are its key value propositions and why should a potential customer consider American Town China?
John: I believe, if your business doesn’t go global, if any countries businesses do not go global in the next few years. They may not be in business. Technology has made Competitors within other countries vying for neighboring countries home customers. The facts I have found. Also, needs to be looked at seriously is countries competitors within their own countries. HomeDepo and Lowes only a hypothetical example. They need to consider teaming up logistically to compete with their new competitors in the Global Economy to be cost effective. Not that they merge per say. But, cooperate logistically.
Only 40% of US Small Businesses have gone global. 20% of those countries have only gone out to one country. american town china’s job is to bring American Small Business and any western business around the world to a Proactive, inexpensive, comfortable, Informative avenue to the latest exporting laws and benefits, Explaining the purchasing culture and etiquette of their Host countries customers. Place in the country they want to grow their business in. The Key is the Clients wanting to go. I want to have a vacation like atmosphere. So, the client can go and see the 5,000-year-old China Culture. The differences and appreciate them. While targeting customers and our Clients showing them the quality products and services that can solve a problem of the Chinese Citizens they meet. Also having temporary/permanent shops in the community for the attracted Chinese Citizens that have a curiosity of western culture they want to satisfy. american town china is a place where our business clients will be in a foreign land with like-minded persons around them Lessens the anxiety of being in an unfamiliar country like China... They can exchange information, fellowship. Even exchange what Ideas they have, invoking ingenuity. A place where anything our Clients may need when arriving to the american town community we can arrange for them. Translators, medicines they may need to purchase.
